It’s not every night a firm earns industry accolades both for a product and for the people behind it. Yet, at the American Financial Technology Awards on December 3, the spotlight shone brightly on SS&C Advent. Our cloud-based rebalancing solution, Advent Genesis™, took top honors for “Best Front Office Initiative.” And, equally exciting, the team that developed and brought Genesis to market was recognized as the “Best Third-Party Technology Vendor IT Team.”
Launched in Q4 2017, Advent Genesis is a cloud-based portfolio construction and rebalancing platform designed with the portfolio manager in mind and built specifically to enhance front-office productivity. Integrated with SS&C Advent’s Moxy® trade order management system, Genesis streamlines portfolio review, optimizes rebalancing workflows, streamlines trade creation and automatically identifies portfolios drifting off strategy, enabling exception-based management and eliminating the need to review each portfolio manually. Freed from time-consuming manual tasks and spreadsheets, portfolio managers can focus on what they do best, namely investment strategies that benefit their clients and the firm.
Since its launch a year ago, Genesis has been embraced enthusiastically by our clients and earned accolades from industry experts. Waters Buy-Side Technology called it “a beefy solution designed specifically for portfolio managers that uses visualization to achieve greater rebalancing efficiency,” and further noted that it is “first and foremost a triumph of speed,” by virtue of its ability to rebalance more than 1,000 accounts in a minute.
Credit for the product’s success, as the AFTA judges agreed, is directly due to the project team. Although we are a well-established company, the team approached this project with the hunger and passion of a start-up. Employing an agile development model, the team went through exhaustive concept validation with clients and Beta testing with firms collaborating with us to build this solution over several months, collecting feedback and incorporating the best ideas into the solution. The result of their tireless commitment is a powerful yet elegant rebalancing and portfolio construction solution that fills a critical need for our clients and adds a significant dimension to our asset management suite.
